TGIF!

Recap of my teases earlier this week.

For Tamera, her block from "Let's Be Together":
And towels are arriving to new homes.  I wasn't prepared as I had hope with this swap.  I've already started making my July towels as I'll be doing them by hand.  My poor embroidery machine is in the shop after these.  I made 12, mailed 10 to the swappers in the group and 2 are going to some surprise recipients :)  All the towels are different - kinda like snowflakes.  Different fabrics, threads and towels - but all have the same design.
Tomorrow is set up for several things!  First, are you participating in "Christmas Quilt Along":

And tomorrow, I'm also going to visit for the first time the Modern Knoxville Guild:

Going to have a fun filled packed weekend!

Quilty kinda week . . .

I finally made my way to the local quilt guild on Monday night.  The Ritzy Thimble is the guild in Oak Ridge, TN.  They are a new guild with 70 members and currently closed for new membership (due to limitations put on them by the rental room they use monthly).  I'm on the waiting list and hopefully will be a member in Janauary.  I was easily amused at how this guild is no different to the guilds I've been to before.  Same type of ladies, just different faces.  My friend who invited me felt the need to apologized for how the meeting ran and told her not to worry, I've seen worse and felt right at home.  Granted I think I was the youngest person in the room!

The meeting had several wonderful quick gift ideas for the holidays, so I think I'm going to pull out some stuff and "whip" up some gifts this weekend and get my holiday groove on!

I have posted/pre-posted my commission tops on my other blog, but here's the one I shared earlier this month completed:

Hershey Recap....

what an exciting day!  I had a blast sharing the love of quilting, shopping, eating and laughing with 6 other friends!  It was a fully packed van!

I was on a set budget and did fairly well in keeping in that budget.  I purchase 2 items that I wanted to get and an extra bonus item I'm totally in love with.  I was good and didn't purchase any fabric --though I came sooo close to purchasing a $150/kit, I did pick up a cheap little $12 kit instead.  I got my show pin and a group pin.

Here's my newest booty (l-r: my second thread catcher for my travel hand work bag, a pattern for hanging my pin collection on, my new pins, and my bonus project bag with tons of zipper pockets directly from Pat Sloan---oh did I mention I talk to Pat? :) ) :

And Eva and Laura got me this cute t shirt (I don't own a quilting t shirt):

We had a wonderful time and I think we all did well on our shopping budgets!  I think we are done with shows until next year.

We did see a lot of quilts that were shown at the Lancaster Show in April.  There was a nice selection of quilts and highly impressed with all the appliqued ones.  Here's my gallery of all the pictures I took. I do have last year's pictures still up, if you are interested here as well.

I think my favorite quilt was this one:

We did get our tradition group picture- this one was taken in front of our own guild quilt (Four County Quilt Guild) which we (as a guild) have entered the past two years' raffle quilts for judging into Quilt Odyssey.  Eva got a better picture, poor Jane likes to look around when the camera is snapping :)  l-r: Donna, Cheryl, Me, Jane, Eva, Pam and Laura (trip virgin to our group) in front.

I'm beat as I'm typing this post up after our trip....Sunday will be recouping day :)

Surprises in the mail and much more....

I received the cutest and sweetest gift yesterday from Finlan.  Jen (aka Hedgehog) made me a "mini" quiltlet for hosting the Booty Swap and I just love it!!

Isn't it adorable!!  I was very surprised by receiving it!

Yesterday was guild night and we hosted our annual Chinese Auction and I walked away with a few items:

And this weird mug:

Do you know of this group?  Found some info on the web, but nothing specific.

My body isn't happy with me right now, unsure why, but I did do my DJ block for the day and so now I'm going to go and rest until my body likes me again :)

Do you sometimes….

feel "anti-internet"? I mean, I've not made the effort to post my Manic Monday Offering, and not like I don't have one, just blah to get it done. I'm working on a BOM for Calico Cats community and haven't posted it yet, again just blah to do it.

So, I'm posting this "warning" post to let ya'l know, I'm ok just kinda "anti-internet"....looking at my Google Reader and feeling overwhelm as well for not keeping up with my favorite blogs.

Ooh, and I'm going to meet Bonnie from Quiltville in April, our guild is hosting her at my shop - already told the boss, I'm not working I'm participating in the class :D

I do have pictures and other things to share, again once my "funk" passing I'll post more....maybe if I complete something that might help. Obviously we are skipping Manic Monday Offering this week....I'll announce the winner of the batiks next week.
