Another day ripping out stitches and repairing the seams or in other words, just trying to quilt new sails.

Arrggh!! Matey, I feel piratey today!
It's September 19th and that means - - It's Talk Like A Pirate Day!, so the rest of this post will be in pirate speak - - unfortunately, I don't see a Pirate to English translator available.

Merry Christmas!
I know a day late and a dollar (or few) short....but I have to share all my spoils because I have great friends and awsome new gifts.
First and far mostest is my awsome new digital camera ---and it has a shutter button too :)

It's a Fuji Finepix J38 and I love it. It does panoramic pictures too! I have to play more with that feature but I've been taking lots of "make-up" images of my quilting things and gifts.
I participated in a quickie Christmas Swap through Pat Sloan's group and my swap partner was Ms. Nancy. I wasn't able to take pictures of what I sent her, but I opened her present to me on Christmas morning and found wonderful surprises. Inside her package was a beautiful table runner, a snowman embroidered card, some godiva chocolate, 2 fat quarters and the coolest new ornament---a pirate santa! I now have 2, looks like a new thing I will be collecting:

Then from my friend Betsy in Florida, she sent me this AWSOME Catherdral Windows.....I already have it hanging and it will remain hanging in my sewing area:

I didn't get a lot of quilty things from family and close friends....they know I just get what I want at work, so I got some great useful items, like a new frying pan, a covered ice scraper, stationary with my name, lotion and chocolate. One other gift my hubby and I got together for us was a single cup coffee maker, Keurig. OMG....we love it love it. (Thanks to Jane getting me hooked on one) We are probably drinking way too much coffee the past 2 days, but it's fun to try the variety of flavors.

Well, now I've got a new camera I am going to pre-post for this week. I have lots of new pictures to share and organinzing my sewing studio to set myself on weekly goals this coming year.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, blessed with family and friends and love. I know I'm grateful for all you who participate in my blog and make me feel special.

My first commission!
Ok, I have to admit it is my second technically. I made a baby quilt 9 years ago for $25.

I've come a LONG way baby!! I just did a great quilt and made a wee bit more that $25. It is a Yellow Brick Road pattern by Atkinson's Designs done with (mostly) Neutrals from Marcus Brothers. I'm very proud of this and how it turned out and luckily so is the customer :)

I now can work on some things for myself this week, though I do have another commission project to finish by end of October (in time for christmas)
My dear friend Donna gave me lots of goodies yesterday when we met up for Starbucks...and I love my new clock for my sewing area:

She also gave me a few more things for the sewing area, I'll share those later.
It's back to work reality. Just feels like it is going to be a long day!

Because Rose did it...
Rose did this and I was curious and bored this morning (not like I don't have a list of "to-dos")......
According to this (very limited) database, there are only 97,202 with the name Toni. That is my real name, not Antoinette. But it states there are no records of Carringer (my married name) and I know there are a ton of them folks in TN and NC :) Needless to say, I'm very unique LOL
How many have your name?
And Amy thought of me when she saw these this morning:
T-Shirt #1
T-Shirt #2
I have no clue why? LOL

The mail man loves me. . .
well the ones at the post office. I've decided to add a new rule to Manic Monday Offerings, mailings will be done at the end of each month - it works much easier budget wise for me.
So, I think I have caught up with everyone, even a few of those I missed over the past 5 months (I'm soo sorry folks). I hope everyone enjoys their new stash :D
I got my second Quilter's Home magazine in the mail today (I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE!) and I've been anal about keeping all my previous issues taken very good care of storing them and this magazine today made me cry :( it's all torn up thanks to some post office machine being greedy and hungry. Positive thing is we are now carrying them at the shop--so, I'll read what I can but purchase a new one when they come in at work. I'm still very sad to see Mark's face all torn up, but at least I can read the inside....ok, as I turn the pages, I can't read the first 8 pages or so....WHAaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......wanna see:

OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE'S AN ARTICLE ABOUT PIRATES (ok, it's about doing quilting professionally, but it uses pirates)!!! Darn, I need to make Mark Lipinski aware of my "pirating blog" :D LOL I know what article I'm reading first....

"Mark dreamed of being a quilting pirate."......hello, I AM The Quilting Pirate!! LOL

one of my favorite days of the year. . .

this might be a bit difficult t' read or understand, but if ye put yer swashbuckler hats on, ye might jus' get 't!
`Tis another tide off an' I be about t' take th' plunge into some projects. I be designin' a wall quilt fer a matey an' a baby quilt fer another.
Nay t' mention I be in th' process o' tradin' in me Mega Quilter. Sadly, I be havin' come t' th' fact that I be a piecer, nay a quilter. Since I be havin' done that, 't take a burden off o' tryin' t' finish quiltin' so many tops that be way t' big t' do in me machine! So, I be breakin' down th' frame an' plannin' on tradin' up into a newest an' fancier machine.
Need t' finish up some swaps I be doin' on Swap-Bot (man be that place addictin' & fun) an' also catch up on some tv shows I be havin' dvr`ed o'er th' past wee tides.
Gotta get me aft into gear....I haven`t posted any quilty pictures in a while - havin' withdrawals.
