Unsure where to start...

I haven't posted in a while and there's so much going on can't find the time to do it correctly.  Let me start now and see how long it takes for me to publish this....ok, I started this post on the 9th....let's try again.

The past 2 months have been a whirled wind!  I've traveled to Texas - again, Pittsburgh, Deal Island, Maryland, lost over 60 hours of sleep, caught back up on sleep, lost track of 3 swaps, caught back up on swaps, ripped out very nasty carpet in sewing studio (15' x 22' area), totally rearranged my sewing studio, kids got out of school, and now trying to just find my stuff to sew something for myself!!

I have been going, going, going more so than normal I had an out of season depression spell and I think I'm finally over that.  But needless to say, I have lost track on the things that helped balance me on a daily basis.   I'm starting to find my sewing items and sew, in fact I'm quilting today the last stage of a round robin swap.  Then I'm going to sew some blocks for my Needle Nosh block of the month class.

I still have a HUGE pile of stuff in my sewing studio to go through, but I'm doing it in baby steps.  A little each day.  I hope to have it organized before we leave for the ocean next week.

I have only accomplished one completed top in 3 months---if that doesn't speak volumes, then you are just getting to know me.  I finished it on my quilting retreat.  I also have done a bit of hand work with my hexagons.  I do have pictures!!!

I'll finish making some albums of my pictures over the pass few months and share them this week.

I am planning on reconnecting with my blogland friends and you might see over the next few days some comments from me on older posts :)  Sorry for neglecting you all.  I do miss you.

Hello cold....

just a little note to say I was right, snow before Thanksgiving this year....not a flurry, but huge snowflakes!!  It was pretty driving through it last night.

I'm home and waking up this morning was really rough...ok, it's still rough, I can't get moving -- need coffee.

What a most pleasant weekend!  Jane came out of her shell (inserts strange hand movements in the air), Donna tried to cough up a lung to share, Cheryl caught up on her sleep, Jackie II finished 2 complete quilts (binding and all), Eva discovered her Christmas gifts to make and I whipped through lots of projects.

We all have such a wonderful time, we got to watch the sunset on Saturday, got to visit 3 quilt shops (2 there were new to me), got to laugh hard and there was sewing going on.

I don't have a full group shot, but Eva did send me a semi-group picture when we finished our "quickie" pillowcase project on Friday:

I'll put a web album together later this week, but here are my projects I worked on:

The second table runner was a little kit I picked up at the Dusty Attic on our way to the house.  The teaser picture is my Holiday booty swap and the last quilt was fabric given to me by a friend last week-I think I'm going to add borders to it through, I still have tons of fabric.  Plus 2 other pillowcases (which are already on my kids pillows) and I finished the main part of my queen size Sunflower quilt, just need to add borders to it.  It's too big for me to take a picture by myself.

Whew.....I don't think I have ever accomplished so much during a retreat.....granted I still have plenty with me I could have started in my bag! LOL

Well, I need...I have to move my butt this morning (which is moving sooo slow) to go to work.  At least I have some show and tell :)

Do you want pictures....

or ramblings from me? I can do both, but it would boring in the end. We all enjoy looking at pretties!

I've been preparing for next weekend's quilting retreat. Pulling projects outs, making sure all parts are cut and making 9 patch blocks for the charity project we are doing for Quilts of Valor. Well, what an appropiate way to spend part of my 4th of July by making 9 patch blocks. I have 7 done and I hope to get at least 3 more.

And here's the 10 blocks I have done of the Pink & Green Monster....it's soo hard to do these blocks, and I have 10 more to put together:

I was at work for a few hours today to instruct someone on threading their serger....well I learned a few new things after an hour of trying to figure it out....seriously it's not the difficult, but one little thing messes up everything else. Mental note, if machine was set up for a cover stitch previously, in order to use a 4 thread overlock stitch, you must remove the proper hardware and flip over the proper switch. :)

The rest of the day involved an afternoon visit to hubby's friends house (he does have his own friends) and a long nap.

Feel like sewing but don't know what to start with....I'm sure something will come to me.

It's Monday again....

and I'm hoping that most of my readers have following my bread crumb trail to this blog...**crosses fingers**

I've been doing a lot of prep work for this upcoming weekend get away.  I'm very excited to be driving to the Outer Banks with quilty friends to sew by the ocean.  I have no clue what my goal is yet, but I have cut out several projects that I have all the fabric for - but just haven't started.  I didn't realize how many I have.  I am ready to sew 6 projects and quilt one baby quilt.

Also, need to send out my mini round robin before I go and start another round robin block to send out at the end of the month.

Today and tomorrow (in between work, family, packing) I'm also trying to complete my Civil War Love Letter Quilt project for March.  My club meets this Friday.  I'm making 5 blocks into 9" (verses the 6" in the book) using the EQ cd's....I love EQ6....and have 2 blocks done, only 3 more to do.

I just got in the mail today, my first Quilt Flix with Wizard of Oz.  I'm honestly not crazy about the pattern or the fabric, but I love the movie and it holds many dear childhood memories.  So, I guess I should pre-cut it as well this afternoon.

I'll get up the new Manic Monday offering this evening.

I think that covers my quilty stuff for now.....need to do pictures.
