I've been working a lot this week on my bargello and a few other projects. I've got a customer order for a lonestar top...never made one before and was very intimated by the whole thing. Once I actually sat down and figured it out, WAL-LA....easy peasy! Just takes a little more time. Here's half of what I've done....
I hope to have my second section of bargello done by end of this weekend, only 13 more strips to attach. But I wanted something quick to do and feel accomplished...so I visited a few new quilt shops in my area this week and found the perfect fabric I have been looking for to finish my wacky cottages.....and I whipped them together this morning:
I moved a few in a different order because I like the way the months were represented. It turned out bigger than I expected and I used every 2 yards of border fabric :) I'm happy with it.
Now to do some weekend running around and coming back to my bargello!
Can I commission you to make me a quilt some day? I had always intended, from the time I was a teen, to learn to quilt, but just never started. I had a TON of fabric that I had acquired over the years but finally got rid of it all a few years back. You do great work! Beautiful stuff Toni.( I don't use that aol email account any more but it is still me, lol) Kristine
ReplyDeleteYour houses look great! I forgot I had all these. Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteToni, the Lonestar is beautiful! Perfect colors. I really want to make one but I must finish some projects before I start anything else new. Your cottage quilt turned out very nice.
ReplyDeleteI started a Lonestar a long long time ago. I had a lot of trouble getting seams to match up.
ReplyDeleteBut Then again I was cutting the fabric using a template cut from a cereal box. ( remember those days? ) Yes I am that old.
I like your cottages. I'll add that to list of quilts I would like to make someday.
Oooo... I'm loving the Lone Star. Bright and gorgeous! Someday I need to make me one o' those. The cottage quilt is great. :)
ReplyDeleteToni, of course I love the cottage quilt. I hope to make a lonestar one day when I can just focus solely on it and nothing else since it looks so complicated. yours is stunning.
ReplyDeleteWow, I always admire people who take on the lone star. It is very intimidating to me for sure. You are doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteI love your lonestar and I don't like lonestars....must be the blue background.
ReplyDeleteI toni, thanks for visiting my blog(s). Iknow multiple blogs may take more time, but i'll just wait to see which one or two rises to the top and let the others go.
