What did you do this weekend?

Share me some pictures!!!  I want to know what you did!

I spent yesterday, buckling down and making my Four Season Summer Swap project.  I have racked my brain for weeks on what to make.  Let me say it's hard when you have a partner who puts no preferences (no favorite colors, no favorite styles, techniques, no theme) and then you read their blog going months back and you can't figure out what their style or color choices are.....le sigh.  So, I'm biting the bullet and designing something that fits their blog header a little and using bright summery colors.  I pulled out a book I had purchased for a row swap over a year ago and made a TINY flower block:

The flower on the left is 2" blocks the one on the right is 1"....yes, 1" half square triangles....oh fun!  Unfortunately I can't show the entire quiltlet right now, but I plan to finish quilting it tonite and putting in the mail on it's long journey by Wednesday!

Next I'll be working on my Booty Swap, but at least I have 2 months to complete it.

I also did more cutting yesterday for UFO's to take with me to the retreat....you want to see where we are going?   Check out Bentley Brook, in Massachusetts.

Well, time to go to work.

I have pulled fabric out for my booty swap, but designing it will take a few more weeks I think :) There's plenty of time!

    Thanks, Kristie!

  3. O my. I can *so* relate to your quandary. My 4SQS partner is the same. The only requirement was 'traditional'. I read and read her archives and came away with only a couple of ideas of quilt likes, one of them being nine-patches. So be it. I sat down and brainstormed with myself. No idea was discarded. I am putting the final (hand) quilting stitches in it and it will be popped into the mail soon. Hang in there.

Frustrating isn't it? I hope my blog easily shares my tastes and likes/dislikes. I make sure to give lots of info for my partners to build something for just me :) Oh well, I know they will be grateful with whatever I make and enjoy it! :)
