Shower time!!

Yah know how hard it is to find a plumber when you need one? After 4 calls, we found one....and $250 later (ok, that is $550 total - counting a new tool/snake, drano, septic man yesterday) and one missing hamster later, the clog is gone.

Oh, yah....about 8 months ago we lost our hamster and never to be seen or smelled again (we figured it would ya know smell it it was stuck in the wall or something)....until this afternoon. It was the clog...ok, sorry everyone say.....euuuuooooooiiiiiuuuuuuu.....we think that one of the kids (probably the girls) found the hamster dead (ya know like all those darn tv shows) flushed things down the toilet upstairs. We decided not to mention it to the kids and the plumber, who has 22 years of experience said he has never seen this before :) I'm glad we could humor him so.

Ok, on to more pleasant things....HOLY MOLY...we are half filled up on the Booty Swap....don't delay and sign up today...I made a rhyme!

And I completed the remainder of those columns for the 9 Patch Pizazz...I need to start thinking of a name for it, any suggestions?

Oh and lookie what I'm also working on today:

I have finished now that block.  This is my first attempt at hand quilting.  It's ok I guess, not something I can get into really, but it's going quickly.  This is for my ALQS and I hope to have it completed and mail by end of week---it has a long way to travel before July 1st!  And being I'll be traveling later this week, it works as a nice project to take with me :)

Ahhhhhhhh....a cool shower is a wonderful thing!

  1. Ok, now I'm not one to drink very much. Maybe a small glass of wine with a nice dinner out in a fancy restaurant. But my friend, THIS hamster thing calls for a stiff drink. And you're so right - eeeeeeewwwwwwww! Yuck!

Tell me about it! I'm glad I was upstairs doing supper and not with my husband and the plumber at the time of discovery.

  2. Toni, I like the quilt you have on the hoop. Is it a miniature quilt or full size? Are you using the new hoop? If so , do you like it?
What made you decide to hand quilt it?
How do you find the time.

Thank you Betsy. It is a miniature, though the blocks are 6". Yep that is the new hoop, and I LOVE IT. I like the square shape a lot. And the thickness of the hoop is about 3/8" more than the plastic one I borrowed from a friend.

This is for my partner in the ALQS and she likes hand work and being a small project I figured I would take the dive into hand quilting. These little quilts are perfect for teaching and learning new techniques that I wouldn't try normally.

Time what time? :) Yesterday was hot and I wasn't working, so sitting and stitching was the best way to spend the day.

Lovely colors in your ALQS. Been meaning to comment before (as I always do, but yesterday was one of those bad computer days - darn thing kept crashing just as I got to the comments (maybe cyberspace is telling me to shut up for once LOL)

LOL, I think you need to clean your computer so it will allow you to play more online :) Thanks!

  5. I considered doing hand quilting for the first time on the ALQS, but I chickened out. Good for you!!
And oh, the hamster? A moment in silence, may he rest in peace, with no flushes in his path...

Yah, I almost didn't but finding the proper hoop really inspired me. Thanks!
