A few weeks ago, I saw this pattern by Lizzie Be Cre8ive Designs at Gina's. So, I picked it up thinking this would be a perfect hand work piece - simple and fun.
It's called Piece, Love & Applique. The hardest challenge I have found is picking the fabrics for the feel I want. After visiting a few fabric shops and even picking out 2 different "focus" fabrics, I decided on using the tones and colors in this piece (which will be used for a few of the blocks as well):
I have all my fabrics to get started now and I piece my first section - this pattern is done by months, was a BOM program.
I'm working on the applique now and hope to finish it in the evenings over the next week.
Don't forget to do your daily entry for my Manic Monday Offering!
Toni I too have the pattern and I have hesitated because of fabric choices. Your fabrics look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty pattern! I need to take a needleturn class. I think I would enjoy hand applique' but doesn't it go slow?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful pattern. I really like the color scheme you are going with. Looking forward to watching your progress.

ReplyDeleteMakes me think spring.....hoping for that 55 degrees next week......miss you girl...let me know when you come up next time we'll do lunch..
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! This looks like a challenging project, but I know you'll kick butt on it! I love the focus fabric you chose, the colors are rich!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful pattern, happy sewing.
ReplyDeleteI love your choice of colors for your Piece, Love & Applique. Warm and wonderful looking!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this pattern before but have some others of LizB. Took a class with them one time and it was so much fun and I learned quite a bit when I was just starting applique.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of choosing a focus fabric to guide your other fabric choices in the quilt. Very smart! The fabrics you've chosen so far look perfect. I can't wait to see more! :)
