Free books?

Have you seen this place before: http://www.wowio.com/index.asp

I have downloaded several quilting books---entirely free! I and very happy with downloading the Spellbinding book, being it's paper-piece patterns-so I don't have to scan my own pages to print out now (and I do own a hard copy of that book). I recommend this sight for free ebooks.

Now for more pictures....where to start?

First, here are some of my birthday blocks I have received from a swap I'm part of:

And here's my Block of the Month I did in 2007 and sent to a friend to quilt in December. She free motioned 90% of it (using templates for the plain blocks). I need to add borders, but it's AWSOME and on my bed right now :) Even created 2 pillow cases to match (thank goodness for stash). It's 80" x 100". Now to make the binding and get it on and a label. Click on the image to see a slideshow with the details.

And my other quilter- a long armer in WV - called me on Friday to tell me my 2 quilts are done! And only $140 later for both, which are large lap sizes! I pick them up on the 30th! I'm feeling accomplished finally after all these years of making tops. I plan to give the quilter 2 more to play with, but they won't be back until end of June. I wish I could find someone who is more local and can turn around a quilt in 3-4 weeks.

I also got my Designer 1 back from the service people in Cleveland, Ohio---2 weeks! WOW...I haven't set it up to try to see if it works right now, but will do that soon!

So, on the eve of my date of birth, again I don't feel any older--well, except for the aching bones and the extra gray hair and wanting to sleep 8 hours every night--I have no exciting plans for the week, but do have a birthday dinner date with my friend Sati and pedicures!! YAH! First ones of the season...I'm ready to wear flip flops all the time!

I think I'm caught up now....so, it's back to work tomorrow.

Nifty slide show. The quilter has done a great job on the quilting. Very pretty quilt with the blue that you have chosen. Looks great on the bed.

  7. Hi
Long time reader, first time commenter...coming via Kate in London...

    Firstly, Happy Belated Birthday!

Secondly, thanks for the link to the free books. Wow! what a find. It's great!

    BUT,

Dang there is always a 'but'!
I'm in Ireland and at present you can only download from U.S. ip addresses!! ugh!!

Can you tell me if there are any copyright/ sharing laws, on your downloads, like if, someone was kind enough to pass it on? Would be very interested in seeking out a roundabout solution if it doesn't mean piracy. (hehehe, that pun's for you! Happy birthday!!)
