Poopers Beans....

I totally missed the Doll Swap III sign ups...they really cut back on the number this year, down to 50.  I'm soooooooooo bummed.  It was my first swap on blogland where I created an entire mini quilt for a stranger.  I have been swapping online over 10 years with quilting, but not with a completed quilt.  I love this kind of swap and continue to participate on another similar swap (notice my left side bar) called the Four Seasons Quilt Swap.

I have also hosted many swaps through out the years, and ponder on doing it for one of these kinds of swaps.  My concern would be the interest.  Would you be interested in participating in a swap like this?  If I can get at least 14 interested participants, I will go ahead and set up a swap for a mini quilt.

Guidelines would be: quilts no larger than 18", 6 weeks to complete, one on one swap, completed with binding and label,  international swappers.

What say you?

  1. Me, me, me! I was so disappointed when I realised I'd missed out on round III of the Doll Quilt Swap - I enjoyed doing this so much last year.

I'll keep you posted. I'm already surprised by 2 new people commenting in my blog, so that is a good sign!

    Thanks for commenting!

  2. I'm so sorry you missed out on DQ III. I'm a new hostess so decided to keep the numbers in this group a bit lower (we ended up with 55 swappers).

I'd be happy to join your swap though....I just love making these smaller quilts!

No worries! I understand the need to have a set number of participants just do to the massive work load of emails and I'll do the same.

I'll keep you posted on what develops, I have a feeling this might mushroom quickly. I'll give it to the end of tomorrow to see how to proceed.

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

  4. Ok, so I am the reason you missed out. I was swapper #50 (yea for me..sorry for everyone else!).
This is my first time on the other side of the fense (ie., not hosting the swap and knowing to where the quilts are going, and from whom). I am a bit of a nut when it comes to sewing. The swap quilts force me to actually finish the project, unlike my sewing room full of good intentions!
If this swap is a go for you, I'd be happy to join, and help you promote however you like.

LOL...silly Margaret! I am totally at fault for not reading daily this week my blog lists....there just isn't enough time in the day!

I'll keep you posted, it looks like I can easily get enough interest though. Thanks for commenting!

I'd like to join in if you still have room for another quilter!

I have room, haven't even started collecting information :) I'll be posting something regarding this swap later today. Thanks for the interest!

  11. Add me too thanks! I am glad your specifics include 'must have a blog'; my one and only swap ended unhappily because my partner had no blog and could not be contacted. I am excited about another one though!
