Happy Hump Day!

Finally just hit the "Read All" button in my blog reader....I can't get 4 days behind, it's just overwhelming!

I'm going to try it again!


It is this Friday and I know exactly what I will work on.  I'm going to plan a day with normalcy, than a quickie nap, chocolate, chips, wine and movie for kids - then I plan to sew all night long on one project!  I have to get it finished - what you are thinking?  You'll see!!!  Are you going to play along?

I received my February towel from my first towel swap from Ms. Betsy!  I am in love with the towel she used!!  It's heavy, think, and a woven weave---very nice.  I'm getting these for the second month I'm dedicated to for my towel swap.

 And she made something extra (she is sooo generous) called a scissor mat (and Tijeras means scissors in spanish).

Now, I haven't done any sewing since yesterday morning, but I've been cutting out my BOMs to work on them today:

Wednesday, might be my day off, but it's the only day I can run errands - so, I'll be errand running today then finding time to sew for me (not work) this afternoon!

Hump de Dump Day!

Well, being stuck inside for a few days one would think I have tons done - well, not really.  It's easier to do computer work and hang out with my kids than focus on some sewing goals.  Yet, I have knocked a few off my weekly list!

I am enjoying doing my Hoopsisters, Goose Track.  It's not challenging, just time consuming and I'm finding tips that will help the class.  The key in doing this kind of project is organization.  Here's what I set up to start my first Month's Blocks:

I'm not sure on how to do the coloring on this project, but I'm definitely going with a ocean/beach feel mainly because it will hang in my bedroom at some point.  Now Jess (co-worker/boss) is doing her blocks 8" (mine are 5" finished) and her's will be very contrasting and bright - which I would love to do as well, but no place to hang in my home.

I also recieve my January Towel from Australia yesterday in my first month towel swap - - look at the detail, I'm very impressed.  Again, thank you Shelia!

And I finished 8 Pay It Forwards - weeeeeee!!  Unsure when I'll pop them into the mail - roads are still iffy in some areas here, so probably tomorrow on my way home from work.

Another day at home - it's my normal day off and the kids are home again, so I plan to do more sewing and some computer work!  Always busy it seems, but trust me I do get down time :)

Swapping on the internet. . .

Since I have moved in July, I hardly get any mail. So, when the package comes at the beginning of the month for my new towel (from my 12 month towel swap) I get all excited and so do my girls!

Yesterday I received my December towel from Deb and I just LOVE IT!

I don't think I ever posted a picture of my November swap, but it has a definite "thanksgiving" feel to it.

I REALLY hope we do this swap again next year (our year ends in March). I love getting a new towel every month!

And here's my oldest Christmas quilt . . . I've had it since 1993 and got it from JC Penneys of all places for $45!! We were stationed in Japan when I purchased it. Still love it!

It's a work day, so I'm off to Gina's to make a few bucks!

Towels are outta here!!!

I finally got all the towels in the mail yesterday!  Whew!  Everyone should have them within the next week or so....but I can't wait to show off them...wanna see??

Now the one I did as a tester and for me, isn't as pretty and was tempted to switch it out, but I resisted.  This won't be the last you see of these either. . . . . (that's a tease for something later on this week).  I definitely want to do this swap again next year, I just love the monthly towels I receive!

Hubby was visiting over the weekend and as is the norm for his visits, lots of unpacking, lots of sightseeing, lots of cuddling and lots of ....mmmm...and NO sewing.  Though I did do some of my hexies while we watched tv one night.

I am working on several things and trying to get my BOMs done for September and some other commission work today...first off to get my hair cut!

Happy Equinox - Happy Fall!

It will be official - Fall will arrive at tonight at 11:09 EST pm.  It's my favorite time of year!  And my favorite month is October!  So, I've redone my blog theme to reflect that! :)

I have been working hard on the towel swap and today I plan to start mailing out towels that are going out of the USA.  These towels took a little more work than I expected, but I'm very happy with the results!  I don't want to spoil the fun just yet until they all arrive to their new homes, but here's a few teasers:

Weee....love this time of year!  My day off and I have a few errands to run, but will end up sewing most of the day away!

I'm back at Blogger....

So, I've decided to use my blogger account blog again.....the perks just out weight the differences between Wordpress for me at this time.  I don't have time to maintain a website with my own blog, so using these free services, I feel Blogger offers me more.

That being said....now down to business....

Yesterday, I received my August Towel from Jean.  She states, it's a self portrait towel and boy she sure looks awsome this summer :) :

Well being Cindy was early for September, my towel will be next arriving in this swap (first week of October).  I picked up the towels I will be using a couple months ago at TJ Max.  Aren't they the perfect green for a Halloween theme?

So, this Sunday I do plan to sew, but not towels yet.  Unsure what will come up, but I'll be sure to share it!

Towel Swap

I have been continuing with 2 swaps, once finished (and I'll post it separately) and one is on going until next spring.  It's a monthly towel swap and the process is we make 12 towels (using a plain towel and adding something to it) for a selected month (mine month is October of course) and mail them out, but every month we get a new towel for that month from someone else.  I have been receiving some great monthly themed towels over the past 5 months and I have to share them.  August towel should arrive in the next week or so!

Another swap....

I'm only doing 2 swap currently now, since the Cottage Block swap has ended.  I'm doing another monthly swap, hosted again by Ms. Betsy.  This time we are doing towels and again, I have October's.  I received me first towel- for April from Krista who lives in American Samoa.  How cool is that?

She did a fantastic job and I just love my Spring towel:



I have some ideas what I plan to do for my towels, need to go out and find some towels that fit the requirements.

I'm still doing the Round Robin Bloggers, we are also in the home stretch on that one as well.  It amazes me to think we started it over a year ago and we are getting to the final months!  I can't wait to share those pictures of the work I did on them!
