Successful Sunday

Yeppers, indeed!  I think this is the first time I've completely had my holiday decorations down by the first Saturday of January!  I did find a few stragglers items later in the afternoon - but everything has been de-christmas-ized!

Once I removed my colorful package wrapped door, I realized I needed a new curtain to represent winter.  So, I whipped one out last night:

Then reading the Stay At Home Round Robin Blog and went ahead and finished December and January's steps yesterday.

Now I await my two other BOM's that I will receive mid-month, but started pulling fabrics for my Christmas Sampler and cutting my Stars Around the Garden. 

Today is a work from home day and I have lots of samples to make up and some computer work!  Should be very busy!

Wednesday Stuff

I really want to take a creative writing class.  I want to be able to blog creatively that sparks inspiration and conversation.  I have always wanted to be able to communicate more effectively, but haven't found the time to take that class.  It's like the class I've always wanted to take on photography as well.  Once day.

I finished my Round 5 of my Stay At Home Robin, I had 5 hours to spare in November and today Kate has posted Round 6, so I'll add to this later today:

I also finished sewing together the main body of my new tree skirt and started pulling stuff from my stash to add borders!  I'm hoping to quilt it this afternoon as well, my poor tree is still nakkid!!

I have always decorated my outside door and over that past 10 years done it with red foil wrapping paper---do you know how hard that has been to find some years.  I have taken up stocking up on red foil!  I normally hand a wreath or my last 4 years big bells - but my new door is too thick to use a hanger on, so I had to be creative and added ribbons and a bow this year.  It's really pretty from the parking lot - but I haven't seen anyone else decorate their apartment door.....we kinda stand out :)

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, winter has arrived here in East Tennessee.  We might see a flurry or two this morning!  What a perfect way to start off December!

My day off and a lot of sewing will happen, several commission pieces to be worked on.

Quickie post...

I did a bit of cutting and organizing yesterday, so I'll have plenty to sew this week.  I did go ahead and do my SAHR September piece (I kept it easy this month) and started on a DJ block - which now I have 2 to hand work on.

And I realized as I was making my Spilt Pea Soup, how my crock pot is the same color....silly thoughts...

It's Fall TV week!  Lots of new series start this week....what are you planning to watch, rewatch, or dvr?  Here's a few of mine:  Chuck (NBC-tonight), The Event (NBC-tonight), Under Covers (NBC-Wednesday), Supernatural (FOX-Friday), No Ordinary Family (ABC-Tuesday), and a few things on SyFy.  I'll also wait for the V premiere, but that isn't until Nov.  Looks like I need all my hand work ready for this week!

Stay At Home Round Robin

I forgot about Kate starting this in July self pace/motivated round robin, but since I've been catching up on blogs, jumped on the bandwagon!

I got my piece done for July:



And added my piece for August - I decided I wanted my sunflower to be the center of this quilt, so I put the 4x6 piece on the right side:

I've enjoyed sewing for myself today and scrounging for fabric that would work...95% of my fabric is still in Maryland--hope to have that remedied by next weekend though.  I feel a bit incomplete with out my fabric palette to play with.
